Add A New Clear Coat To Your Ride - X-Kote Installation

Common Questions About X-Kote - Answered By Diamond Shine Detail & Ceramic Coatings

  • Does X-Kote go directly over my clear coat?

Yes it does! X-Kote is nearly the same as your factory clear coat, filling surface defects and bringing your paintwork back to a smooth, discrepancy-free luster. As a professional X-Kote installer, I will decontaminate your finish completely before using safe applicator towels to hand-apply X-Kote as a liquid formula.

  • Can the properties of my X-Kote fade with time?

They cannot, which is great news for you as a vehicle owner! X-Kote is a permanent solution to surface defects, and once it is applied, will be effective as long as regular maintenance and basic vehicle care is taken. You can also wrap your newly coated surface in a PPF or have it covered with other paint protection methods.

  • Do you install a ceramic coating over X-Kote?

I can and do quite frequently install my protective ceramic coating packages over the top of an X-Kote surface. Think of X-Kote like liquid paint correction, as it fills many of the pockets created by light scratches, swirls, and paint chips. Much like traditional vehicle paint correction, I follow those services up with a ceramic coating to exemplify the resulting gloss.

  • Why does X-Kote require a professional to install?

The permanence of X-Kote when applied to your vehicle’s exterior painted surfaces is predominantly why installation must be done by a certified professional. Diamond Shine Detail & Ceramic Coatings is an exclusive detailing shop that is expertly trained and licensed in applying X-Kote to any make and model vehicle.

Understanding The Properties of X-Kote

For some customers here at Diamond Shine Detail & Ceramic Coatings, the concept of X-Kote seems like a dream-turned-reality. Can correcting the clear coat of a car, truck, or SUV really be bottled as a formula installed by detailing professionals? It can, and having a trusted installer apply it unlocks so much value and potential for what you drive.

Similar to your vehicle’s factory clear coat, which is sprayed on during the manufacturing process, X-Kote is a two-part or two-component formula applied by hand to all painted surfaces of a vehicle’s exterior. As it is hand-applied, X-Kote has this remarkable ability to essentially self-level, meaning the resulting surface is perfectly even.

Being formulated in the same manner as a vehicle’s traditional clear coat makes for easy repaint or repair in the future. You will NOT need to have a whole additional X-Kote installation done, as this is a permanent solution to correcting scratches, scuffs, swirls, and more.
